First Massachusetts Casino Expected to Start in June
The Plainridge Park Casino continues to be scheduled to be opened this June.
Massachusetts casinos are likely to shake up the casino that is regional, potentially drawing customers from Connecticut, New York and other states while maintaining regional gambling dollars in their state.
And while it’ll still be some time before major casino projects in Springfield as well as the Boston area are completed, the first salvo in brand New England’s casino wars is still expected to be fired this summer.
According to Penn National Gaming, the Plainridge Park Casino is on schedule become opened by June 24.
That’s notable not because the project is on time, but as a result of the weather that is historically bad throughout a lot of New England this previous winter, where numerous locations recorded some of the snowiest and coldest weather in history.
Construction: On Time, Over Budget
That weather is probable to postpone numerous construction projects through the area, but didn’t slow the building down of the slots parlor.
The facility will not find a way to provide table games, but will have other electronic machines along with slots; two casino that is full have previously been authorized in the state, and a third could still be certified later this 12 months.
However, the public report released Thursday did remember that the estimated expense of building the facility has increased on the last few months.
